Literature Text

He and I had something in common.

We were drowning under the pressures of people beyond our reach; those who rested back in our home lands.

From under the sheets of gold, we drowned.

He, on the coast of his nation, America. There, he would contain many and enslave many with the careful eye of Britain behind him. The Brit only cheered him on, saying, "Alfred. Continue on as you've been doing. You're doing the right thing."

I, in the South Americas, where I would capture many and slaughter many.

All in the search for gold.

Drowning in gold. The taste the slick metallic surface as it slips into your mouth, and you're unable to breath. Streaks of blood tainted the gold, but with a wipe of the sleeve, it was clean once more.

He watched the chants of the natives as they worked their magic and treated each other with their medicines.

I observed from afar as the hearts of those I'd come to discover were taken out and given to the Gods.

Neither would matter, as soon enough, those people would be almost completely obliterated.

All to let us drown in gold.
o3o. I'm in AP US History, and we were learning about colonization. The Americans (well, at this time, they were still English, but, we Americans consider them to be Americans at that time even before the Revolution. Yeah, I know, it's weird).

The narrator is Spain o3o. (They went down to the Mayans and Aztecs and such).

All of the people mentioned went in search for gold o3o, and most failed in their pursuit for it!~
